A little late to the party the Chicago Blackhawks have now arrived.
With the series tied the Blackhawks headed into St. Louis for Game Five last night after being down 2-0 to start the kick off the 2014 Playoff run.
The Blues surging into a top playoff spot are now beginning to stall as the reigning Stanley Cup Champions are finding their stride with the Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews back from injury and making the overtime difference.
Two games in a row now the faces of the Chicago Blackhawks have made the difference in overtime.
Game Four it was Kane:
Kane, with a knack for scoring in overtime, tied the series for the Blackhawks. This was followed up by an awkward interview for Kane
Last night the series returned to St. Louis and the Blues looked to regain their edge. T.J. Oshie had 25:06 minutes and put three shots on goal – one of which was a backhanded shot past Corey Crawford that put the Blues on the score sheet to tie the game midway through.
Ben Smith would regain the lead for the Blackhawks late in the period; however, it would be an early goal from Blues Alex Pietrangelo early in the third that would tie the game up and force overtime in St. Louis sparking the crowd looking for a home team win.
Toews had something to say about that:
3-2 win for Chicago and a 3-2 series lead.
Game Six is in Chicago on Sunday.
