Bill Daly issues something of an ultimatum regarding the Phoenix Coyotes

Fox Sports Arizona's Craig Morgan's Twitter account has become a must-follow in terms of blow-by-blow coverage of the future of the Phoenix Coyotes in Arizona, as to be determined by the Glendale City Council, and he received one helluva statement from NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly about the need for the team's future to be determined by July 2nd--which is Tuesday:

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly on Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers' characterization of July 2 as an artificial or forced deadline: "He can characterize it the way he wants, but it is what it is. We either get certainty in Glendale by July 2, or we immediately pursue our other options outside of Glendale. We have already gone past the date we were comfortable accommodating in the first place. I hope for the sake of the Coyotes fans in Glendale that they don't lose the team because of a miscalculation made by members of the City Council."

The people will be left holding the bag because Hockey is not sustainable in the desert.  The arrogance of the NHL and their commissioner knows no bounds. They built the arena and still, nobody came. Is the league going to reimburse any cost for the expenditures thus far?
