Stars general manager Doug Armstrong said Friday that unrestricted free agent Eric Lindros is among the players the team is considering this summer. "When you're looking at any free agent, you have to weigh in all those factors -- injuries, health, production," Armstrong said. "There's a calculated risk with all those guys. I don't want to put too much stock in one player, but he's a big, strong center-ice man and right winger who has produced offensively in the past."more update 4:23pm, from TSN,
Eric Lindros is expected decide on which team he will sign with by the end of the weekend, and the Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers believe they are very much in the mix. The Oilers, Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs appear to be the front runners in landing the veteran centre, who became an unrestricted free agent on July 1.continued update 8:50pm, Using a "source" as a reference, the Dallas Morning News is reporting the Stars are expected to sign Lindros.
