I wish Nill would have taken over in Detroit.

Why? As it stands, that’s a horrible trade for the Stars. I assume the other pieces of the trade involve more players from Boston, otherwise Nill got fleeced.

Eriksson is ridiculously talented, and Seguin has not reached his potential yet. Bos gets the better return.

Fleeced? That is crazy. Seguin had an off year but is very young and will be one hell of a center in this league for many many years. And I like Nills proactive approach

Loui Erikkson going to BOS means a Wings-killer is going to the same division as the Wings.

Believe Peverley may be in that Dallas/Boston deal as well.

Hearing DAL-BOS is a 5-player deal.

Eriksson is highly underappreciated. He is a hell of a player, whereas Seguin may turn into a great player. Right now, he’s a third line center with inconsistency issues. If Holland had made this trade, I’d be pretty upset, but would hope that they are correct about his potential.

Nill has no other choice but to be proactive. He paid Gonchar 5 million dollars for 2 years. The Wings aren’t that desperate and are at a totally different developmental stage.

I wish Holland would get on the phone with Nill and figure out a way to get Eriksson.

Seguin is 1b over-all pick with loads of stanley cup experience and his name on the cup once already with a recent trip back.

If you look at how Seguin was used, he wasn’t a third line center, he was played at wing most of the time.

All rookies are inconsistant.  Mule’s inconsistant.  Really what makes superstars, superstars, is to be good ALL the time.  Pav and Z.

Eriksson is talented, fills the Horton spot as scoring winger.

Nill knows you build a winning team starting down the middle.  He’s taking a risk but the payoff and huge and the actual risk is missing the playoffs and trying again.  Seguin’s already proving a lot and sometimes winning takes vision.

He’ll also get better production out of whoever he puts on his wings vs. just the production you’d get out of Lou.

Why would he do that?  He likes his team…

thank you for stating what I thought was an obvious truth. Nill isn’t going to manage the Stars like he would the Red Wings. They are different teams with different needs. The Wings just were one goal from reaching the conference finals against the eventual cup winner… in a REBUILDING YEAR. We are in really good shape. I actually DO like our team. Hope we add one or two guys, but there’s no need to make wild blockbuster trades thats for sure.
