NHL commissioner Gary Betman addressed the reinstatement of Canucks forward Todd Bertuzzi at length Monday. "When Todd Bertuzzi was reinstated, the suspension had been 17 months long," Bettman explained. "During that period of time, Todd Bertuzzi lost a half million dollars in salary, $350,000 approximately in endorsements. He was deprived of the opportunity to play in the World Cup. He was deprived of the opportunity to play in two world championships and he was barred from playing professional hockey during the work stoppage in which 400 of our players did in Europe.
