...The result has Baumgartner, who, after nine seasons in the minors, had finally established himself as an NHL regular with the Vancouver Canucks last season, playing for the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Spectrum rather than across the parking lot at the Wachovia Center with the Flyers. "It was frustrating at first, but I understand the business -- I can't really get called up now because I'd have to clear waivers, and if somebody else picked me up, the Flyers would still be on the hook for half my salary," explains Baumgarter, whose Phantoms will play the Manitoba Moose Friday. "Ah, but it could be worse. I could not be playing hockey. I could be shovelling snow or dirt or something. It's not that bad."
