Attention Getters

I am not sure what Brad Lee and Sean Gallagher were trying to do, but they need some help when they have to write stuff like this to draw attention to themselves.  Remember boys, it is not about us, it is about the game.

The man who is first on that list with an amazing 1,687 career games is Gordie Howe. And as soon as he remembers where Joe Louis Arena is located, I’m sure he’ll be here to congratulate you on your career. Or wish you happy birthday.

Our next guest is Vladimir Konstantinov! Roll your old bones up here, Vladimir, and say a few words…

I am not one who usually likes to stir the pot, but in this instance, the above needed to be pointed out just so people can see how cruel people can actually be.

If they wrote them just to get attention, it obviously worked.

I have pretty thick skin so I don’t have any problems with roasts but this article just wasn’t funny. I mean come on, if you’re going to make fun of someone at least do it well.  The roast was supposed to be about the 2011-12 Wings but literally every attempted joke was about the history of the Wings which is odd because as a Wings fan even I know there was plenty this year to ridicule.

Low blow cheap shots that aren’t funny just make the writers look like morons.

Bad taste is bad taste no matter the subject matter.

A real amateur production.

Wyshynski censored the last joke.

Lamest eulogy EVAH.  I usually find something to laugh about in Wysh’s eulogies, but this one was simply BAD, not to mention in poor taste.  A low-water mark for the Puck Daddy’s blog.

But they ARE Morons.  They’re from St. Louis Game Time.  That’s like, their whole thing.  Acting like morons for all to see.

If Wysh has any sense, he’ll ring up the Master Chief and ask him to eulogize St. Louis when they get bounced next round.

Is it any surprise that Wyshinski allowed this to exist on his blog how it was originally written?  He’s as classless as the jag offs who who wrote it.  I don’t care if he took the last part about Vladi down.  It was there.  He approved of it being there.  Not to mention the part about Gordie is still there.

Wyshinski is a POS.

It took a couple of morons to write, and then made it past the “editor” before we realized that joking about VK was in bad taste?  I guess making Wings fans angry is their special little fun treat over there, but stuff like that goes way beyond attempting to irritate fans of a team that isn’t your favorite.

Maybe I’m just pissed because my team is out, but do we really have to have this discussion about the Puck Daddy Eulogy for the Wings every single year?  You know they are going to do it if the Wings are eliminated, you know it’s going to be people writing it that are going to try to make fun of the Wings for things are ridiculous and inappropriate, yet you still go and read them.  Wouldn’t it be best to let it go and not bring attention to it?

pfib, I would have ignored it, but the Howe and Vladdy talk needed to be pointed out.

I’ve heard from some MSM over this and they are pointing it out as an example of very poor blogging, which I have to agree with.

It is poor blogging, no doubt, and they are offensive, but that’s the nature of these things.  The Wings contingent here went through the same thing last year when George wrote about how the eulogy last year was unacceptable, offensive, and everything else.  It’s stupid, but I know you aren’t naive enough to not believe that the reason these posts are like this is due to some of the perceived outrageous things that are said on A2Y.  Does that make it right?  No, but the only reason they wrote it was to upset all the Wings fans all over the internet.  Just let it go and let karma bite their team in the ass the next round.  Hell, be flattered that even though their team is moving on, they are still having thoughts about the Wings.

Despite my general dislike for Wyshinski, I would have thought him above this.  Apparently his standards are lower than even I thought.

As for the writers over at the Scottrade Bathroom, this is them doing what they always do.  It’s just that this time they actually won a playoff series for the first time in god-knows-how-long and they have nothing in their team history to celebrate.  So, rather than clebrating a rich history, they are splashing around in the piss-puddles on the floor of their blog like they won the cup in a sad attempt to get some urine on the pants of their betters (which includes pretty much everyone).  It’s a mix of poor sportsmanship, a cry for attention, and premature celebration all at their worst.  Not to mention it sounds a lot like overcompensation for other “premature” issues.

This is what passes for humor these days.  Also anonymous people say things on these boards they would never say to a persons face.  At least sign your name to some of thses attacks.

Many bloggers have no sense of decorum or the limits of decency.

Many many people who aren’t famous hockey players need to deal with dementia and paralysis in their families, and there is nothing funny about it. It is expensive, painful, exhausting, and energy-sapping.

There is nothing amusing about it. And it does indeed cast blogging in general in a very bad light and brings up the whole “MSM has an editor that would tell them this was unacceptable, but bloggers just right any old crap they want to with no repercussions” all over again.

It’s not only tasteless and cruel, but amateurish as well.

Couldn’t have said it better, Baroque.

I know the eulogies are supposed to be funny and ridicule the team and goodness knows, there was plenty about the 2011-2012 Red Wings to ridicule (shooting from the perimeter anyone?) but this was beyond the pale.

Making fun of one of the greatest players ever to play hockey and also bringing up Vladdy which is one of the most painful things for any Wings fan…words fail me.

I’ll add my standard answer here:  I stopped going there this season.  This just reinforces why.  There are some good posts to read but you have to wade through so much sewage from some of their “writers” and commenters it’s just not worth it.  Don’t give ‘me the clicks.

*Should read “Don’t give ‘em the clicks.”

Any semi-intelligent hockey fan would be aware of everything that Gordie went through with Colleen & now experiencing issues himself—and to even think about including something about Vlady is quite sick.  Obviously these clowns are so bereft of any possible way of providing any humor other than in this way, reflects badly on themselves & also on whomever is providing them a platform to promote their drivel.  It shows an obvious lack of talent and ability on their part.  Hey boys, if we live long enough we all get old and in some cases it will not be pretty.  Sad commentary on our society and the sports world that some people think this stuff is funny.
