Kukla's Korner Hockey

As you might expect, the forecast in Flyer-land is ‘rumor-y’

This stuff is mostly rumor-based, so as we say in Michigan, please take this stuff with a full 50-pound bag of road salt:

If we are to believe the rumor mill, the Philadelphia Flyers may end up buying out Daniel Briere but not Ilya Bryzgalov...

That much has been confirmed by the Philiadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi, who reports that the Flyers are interested in trading for Jonathan Bernier regardless...

But stuff gets weird from there on out. Rimer is also reporting what is a widely-held belief in the "scuttlebutt" department that it is in fact Danny Briere who's going to get bought out instead...

And at the same time, Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia's Tim Panaccio's "sources" both claim that the Flyers want Bernier and that they're going to--for the umpteenth time--pursue Cherry Hill, NJ native Bobby Ryan at the draft.

How the hell this works in cap reality, I have no *#$%@& clue.

It works by buying both of them out and not signing Streit to that ridiculous contract. Seriously, can we just fire Holmgren already and hire Hextall back? Oh, and Bryz’s agent should ask Carter’s agent about Holmgren’s promises.
