Classic Collectibles, which has auctioned off jerseys, trophies and other items for greats such as Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau, announced Monday that a collection is on the block from Mahovlich, who starred for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens from 1956-74.
His 1961-62 Maple Leafs and 1972-73 Canadiens Stanley Cup trophies have already drawn bids of $3,000 US each and a 1960s game-worn wool jersey drew $13,310, according to Classic Collectibles' Marc Juteau.
Other items include Mahovlich's red uniform from the 1972 Canada-Soviet series, which had a bid of $4,026, and his 1981 Hockey Hall of Fame ring ($1,815).
update 3:21pm, Defenseman Andy Delmore will try his luck with another expansion franchise.
On Tuesday, the Columbus Blue Jackets claimed Delmore off waivers from the Detroit Red Wings, who signed him as a free agent over the summer.
