Arbitration Talk

from Bob McKenzie of TSN,
...it comes as no surprise then that sources tell TSN the NHL has had the most preliminary of discussions with the NHL Players' Association about the abolition of salary arbitration. If the NHLPA were to agree to the demise of arbitration, it would obviously have to get something in return, perhaps liberalized free agency, or something that would benefit a broader range of NHLPA members than those filing for arbitration.
