LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have acquired defenseman Andrej Sekera from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for prospect Roland McKeown and a conditional first round selection, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Sekera, 28, has played in 57 games with the Hurricanes this year and has 19 points (2-17=19) and eight penalty minutes.

The 6-0, 201-pound native of Bojnice, Slovakia has played for the Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres during his nine-year NHL career. In 470 career regular season games he has 155 points (30-25=155), a plus-3 rating and 130 penalty minutes. In eight NHL playoff games he has one point (1-0=1), a plus-1 rating and 11 penalty minutes.

McKeown, 19, was originally selected by the Kings (50th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft. The pick was acquired from Vancouver in exchange for Linden Vey.
