from Bryan Mullen of the Tennessean,
One of the top priorities for the Predators was to make a decision on their No. 2 goaltender. On Thursday, they marked it off the list.
Anders Lindback won the backup job and Mark Dekanich was assigned to Milwaukee, ending a close battle to earn a place on the Nashville roster to back up Pekka Rinne.
“In the end,” Coach Barry Trotz said, “we felt that Lindback had a little better camp.”...
Lindback, an imposing 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds, was fifth in the Swedish Elite League last season in save percentage (.913) and sixth in goals against average (2.46). This will be his first season in North America.

A bit of a surprise considering Jose Theodore is still available. He’d be good insurance in case Rinne goes down.
