Anaheim Ducks Sign Three Of Their Own

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed goaltender Ryan Miller, defenseman Korbinian Holzer and center Derek Grant to one-year contract extensions through the 2019-20 NHL season.

Miller, 38 (7/17/80), is the all-time leader among U.S.-born goaltenders in wins (378) and ranks second in shutouts (44). In 757 career NHL games, he has posted a 378-275-81 record with a 2.61 goals-against average (GAA) and .915 save percentage (SV%) with Anaheim, Vancouver, St. Louis and Buffalo. Since his NHL debut in 2002-03, Miller ranks fourth among NHL goaltenders in wins, third in saves (20,663) and fourth in appearances. The East Lansing, MI native originally signed with Anaheim as a free agent July 1, 2017 and owns a 20-13-8 record with five shutouts, a 2.53 GAA and .921 SV% in 48 games with the Ducks.

Selected by Buffalo in the fifth round (138th overall) of the 1999 NHL Draft, Miller has made seven career trips to the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Ducks, Canucks, Blues and Sabres. In 57 Stanley Cup Playoff games, the 6-2, 170-pound goaltender has gone 28-27 with three shutouts, a 2.52 GAA and .913 SV%.

Holzer, 31 (2/16/88), has earned 5-18=23 points in 157 career NHL games with Anaheim and Toronto. Acquired from the Maple Leafs Mar. 2, 2015 in exchange for Eric Brewer and Anaheim's fifth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft, Holzer owns 3-11=14 points in 99 career games with the Ducks. The Munich, Germany native also made his debut in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2017, going scoreless with 18 PIM in five postseason games.

Selected by Toronto in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, Holzer had 1-3=4 points and a career-high +5 rating last season with Anaheim. The 6-3, 218-pound blueliner also earned 2-3=5 points in 12 American Hockey League (AHL) games with San Diego in 2018-19.

Grant, 29 (4/20/90), has collected 16-29=45 points in 208 career NHL games with Ottawa, Calgary, Buffalo, Nashville, Anaheim and Pittsburgh. The 6-3, 215-pound center combined for 4-10=14 points in 56 games last season with the Ducks and Penguins. Grant began 2018-19 in Pittsburgh prior to being acquired by Anaheim in exchange for Joseph Blandisi Jan. 16, 2019.

Selected by Ottawa in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Grant set career highs with the Ducks in 2017-18 in points (24), goals (12), assists (12), plus/minus (+3), games played (66) and power-play goals (3).
