I am always awaiting the update from the STATS Blog via NHL.com. Today it is all Carolina.
During the Carolina Hurricanes’ current eight-game winning streak, the team has dominated at even strength, and has crushed its opponents in the third period.

The new NHL rules set up to encourage more scoring seem to be working. The goals-per-game average this season is 6.3, a marked rise from the 2003-04 average of 5.1. That 6.3 average is the highest since the NHL mark was 6.3 in 1995-96.
