All Quiet In Pittsburgh

from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review,
There is a silence around the NHL these days, an uncharacteristic calm not normally associated with the last week before the trade deadline. Usually, there already is significant player movement at this time of the year. There are too many rumors with which to keep track. Bags get packed and players move around while contenders become buyers and non-contenders start thinking about next year. ..."This whole year, you think you know what's going to happen, but you end up turning around going, 'What happened?'" Patrick said before Wednesday's game. "So, I don't really know what this trade deadline's going to bring or how active it's going to be or how people are going to try to fit their cap numbers around. "It's going to be an interesting process." As far as Patrick's requirements for a return on any trade, it would have to be a player who would be around at least through next year, he said.
