All About Alex Ovechkin

from J.P of Japers’ Rink,

When asked on Japers’ Rink Radio this past weekend how he thought his forthcoming unauthorized biography of Alex Ovechkin would be received by Caps fans, co-author Damien Cox answered, “A hardcore fan who just wants to hear good things about their team [isn’t] going to be happy,” but “people who are looking for a more complete picture of this guy [will] really enjoy an independent look.”

...here’s the first of two excerpts we’ll be sharing this week, recounting a scene from the 2005 World Junior Championship…]

The hate between Crosby and Ovechkin really began with their first meeting—physical meeting that is—midway through the first period. They weren’t ships passing in the night then—more like trains colliding at the crossing.

That was an awesome game, Canada completely pulverised Ovechkin and the Russians (much like the Olympics - Olympics to a lesser extent). He ‘got hurt’ both times and was reduced to tears, on the ice, in the World Juniors. Great memories!

Ovechkin kinda pisses me off. I really like him as a player. I think hes the best player in the league (singular) not teammate. He tough but maybe too reckless.

I think its safe to say that the hockey community views b*tch ass crosby as the best player in hockey. Really the only thing that takes him above Alex is that he taken his team to the top. Ovechkin is unable to get his team past the penguins.

Hell, he cant even get his team past the first round and the habs. I think Ove is the best. It seems that he might be one of those amazing players that actually has a negative affect on his team.

You know, sometimes there are amazing athletes but they just dont help the team cause. He needs to get his team through the playoffs. As an individual that bleeds wings red I would love to see the caps on top of the east. We have already taken a cup from them and anything is better than the pens. seriously anything.
