from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
For a few years, the Red Dog had Jordan Binnington by a minute.
“The funniest part was, I played one game. I played 13 minutes,” Greg Redquest, aka the Red Dog, said. “And before this, Binner had only played 12 minutes. So I still had the title.”
Redquest, once Binnington’s goalie coach in junior hockey at Owen Sound and still a good friend, played his one and only NHL game in goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 1977-78 season. Again, for 13 minutes.
Until this season, Binnington had played only one NHL game — for the St. Louis Blues — during the 2015-16 season. For 12 minutes and change.
So it was a good joke among friends for a while. But as the seasons went by and Binnington stayed in the minors, maybe it became less funny.
Then in today's world, there is this, my only question is did anyone talk with Binnington?
