Alex Pietrangelo Placed On Injured Reserve

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has placed defenseman Alex Pietrangelo on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

In addition, the club recalled defenseman Jordan Schmaltz from the American Hockey League's (AHL) San Antonio Rampage.

Pietrangelo, 27, shares second among all defenseman with seven goals and ranks fifth with 23 points overall through 30 games this season. The King City, Ontario native is currently in his 10th season with the Blues after being drafted by the club with the fourth overall pick of the 2008 NHL Draft. Overall, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman has accumulated 326 points (72 goals, 254 assists) in 569 career regular season games.
