Agent: Jagr’s NHL Negotiations Not About Leveraging KHL

Jaromir Jagr continues to discuss an NHL return with the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins, but the talks are not meant as a means of getting a large offer from a Russian team, his agent told ESPN.com on Wednesday.
“It’s absolutely not true,” Petr Svoboda said when presented with the leverage theory. “I’ve heard that, but it’s not true. I mean, there’s always that option if things don’t work out with (the NHL), but this is not about trying to get more money from (the KHL). I know Jags wants to come back to the NHL and for the right reasons.”
Svoboda expected Jagr to speak with Penguins owner and former teammate Mario Lemieux on Wednesday…
