“Obvioiusly, as you can tell when I sat down on the bench, that was stupid, that was a dumb play. “It probably should have been a two-minute penalty and I was lucky it didn’t cost the team. It was definitely a brain cramp at the time. Don’t think it’ll ever happen again.”
-Ryane Clowe of the San Jose Sharks discussing his “stick interference” act last night. More from David Pollak of Working the Corners.

Don’t think it’ll ever happen again
Strongly stated. I’m thinking this might be a great thing to do again and again, since there is apparently a little loophole here.

“It probably should have been a two-minute penatly”...probably Ryan? Probably? How about absolutely should have been. And as what should be no surprise to anyone with a pulse, Thorton calls it “the play of the year” instead of telling his teammate he shouldn’t be pulling that crap. As if I needed any more justification for my complete hatred of the Sharks.

It’ll be great when the Wings knock them out of the playoffs in two weeks.

I love how a coach calling out questionable ref’ing is affecting the integrity of the game, and sh^t like this just slides on by. Any other major sport woulda suspended clown…clowe. You want to keep it from happening again, award both points to LA, and take them from the sharks.

So basically Clowe hoped he didn’t get caught on camera when he was originally asked about. He said he didn’t know what they were talking about and he’d have to see the video.
When it was obvious that it was on camera he said nothing.
Only when it was apparent that there would be no further penalty is he willing to admit to it.
Stay classy, San Jose.

Clowe is such a punk and the NHL is a joke.

the NHL is a joke.
I’m a Canuck fan and this incident enrages me more than Keith’s attack. More than the last 5 minutes of the “Winter Classlessic”. More than that fvck Lucic freight-training Miller scott-free. Holy shxt. How low can you go?
