Really strange that of the four teams that his agent was rumored to have contacted (if Svoboda did call Washington, which I doubt, he probably got hung up on) that Montreal’s the only one confirming lack of interest. There are huge caveats to think an agreement would be possible with everyone BUT Montreal (Pitt: little capspace/bad fit for system/only one other European, Det: possibly a bad fit in the locker room/doesn’t really need a Right Wing/better fit for system than Pittsburgh, but still a bad fit, NYR: coach would throw him in the Hudson river).

With Montreal, they’ve already got two good friends of Jagr’s and they have a dire need of big, strong forwards with heavy shots, which Jagr still is and of which Montreal currently has zero. That’s the team he makes the most sense on by far.
