I've gotten a few emails lately from people who say they are Avalanche season-ticket holders. They say they will immediately cancel their season tickets once the first game is cancelled from the lockout, and they say they'll never come back. They're through, they said, with this insanity.

Can't blame 'em one bit. I would absolutely do the same thing if I were an NHL season-ticket holder. Personally, this would be my tipping point — a third lockout in the last 18 years. I would lock out the NHL from my consciousness permanently in return.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said the last collective bargaining agreement was one that "worked for everybody, but most importantly, for our fans."

Either he was wrong, or he was lying.
