"They want to give to the New Jersey Devils fans an off-ice experience, they want to make a commitment that [but] more important to me, a commitment to winning. They really know what is necessary to win and what it takes. Everyone wants to win but not everyone knows how. They're creative, they're intuitive and they want to get an edge in every way they can. I'm comfortable with that and I'm honored to be here and stay here in New Jersey with the New Jersey Devils."

-Lou Lamoriello on the new ownership group of the New Jersey Devils.  More at the Devils' website.

These guys own the bleeping Philadelphia 76ers.

Standings past 4 years:  13th, 7th, 8th, 9th.
Salary last 4 years: 23rd, 13th, 13th, 30th.

Yeah.  I’m sure the money will just start pouring in, to be followed by the Cups.

To be fair he has only owned the 76ers the last two years. Before that they were the bastard child Ed Snider forgot about.

‘Off-ice experience’?  This from the guy who (according to another article) increased the 76ers attendance by adding ‘more dancers’ and bringing in a Broadway production company to redo the light show?  WTF? Do they really think that’s what hockey fans want?

Even worse: what if they’re right?
