First, I’m totally on the players side.
However, to Toews and every player who thinks like him, if they put the game into the ground, they’ll still be billionares with several successful businesses maintaining their wealth.
If the NHL never produced another paycheck for the players, a great majority of them will have to get a real job.

The owners will decide when the game will continue. And in the end, they can easily bring in replacement players.
It might suck for 5 to 10 years, but they’ll recover. What will guys like Brandon Prust do? Wash cars? Flip burgers?

Time to sign the deal players. You have no leverage.

Yep, way to go Jonathan.

Statements like that to the media really helps the situation doesn’t it?

Just curious - where do these replacement players come from?  Do you make the rules so that anyone who has played in the NHL previously cannot be a replacement player?  Is it that you have to be “less skilled than this much” to be considered a replacement player?  I’m trying to figure out the logistics of actually hiring 700 replacement players - I can’t imagine a route where the owners try to do this.
