Surprised no one picked him up for their 4th line. He’s done everything in this league except raise the cup

Cripes. I actually felt bad for Joe for a second there. I feel gross now.

I’d feel sorrier if he wasn’t such a cheap shot artist.

Huge guy who routinely uses his stick as a weapon and goes after much smaller opponents.

He’s made a ton of money and had a really long career.
Not everyone makes it into the HoF either.

It’s not about you, dude.

There was a rumor the Penguins were looking at adding him but nothing came of it.  Wonder if he chose not to go to the Penguins or if San Jose was asking for too much.  Either way the Penguins could have used him on the 3rd or 4th line.

The talk I heard was he wanted to stay in the West, and for only a team he felt had a legitimate shot at the CUp.

So doing the math… Vegas, Blues and Avs.

I read somewhere (don’t remember where) that there was actually a deal to send Thornton to the Pens, but he said no (and he has a NMC). So he wanted a shot at a Cup, but didn’t want to go to the Pens. Read into that what you will.
