Mrazek knows he will be an NHL Goalie next year. Another First!!!

I don’t expect him to come out and set the prices low by
saying he’s gotta move key guys.

But this kind of sounds like denial.

Something’s gotta give. Maybe it’s ten coach again,

Maybe they can figure out which goalie they trust most
going forward and get some help or at least assets back.

I guess there are two reasons to double down:
Their top two centers and top D are still really good,
but likely won’t be for too much longer. And they really
don’t have many picks or prospects with which to look

So I guess it’s semi-rational to try and tweak the roster
and add a bit more talent and find the right coach and try to go
on one more run.

If by Top D you mean Letang, then oof; you haven’t watched him try to play Defense in a good….5 years. He’s worse than Kronner on one leg.

It sounds familiar, it really does. But we’ve seen this play out in a different city and after a while you have to realize you need more than tweaking.

Then again it was a five game series.

But then again, you’ve got the best player on ice or whatever. He should have been able to will them past this strange exhibition round.

Pittsburgh lost to a team Detroit beat 4 times this season. Need I say more?

As long as Crosby and Malkin are there they will continue to push for a Cup but it is getting increasingly hard to assemble a cast around them and their skills will start to diminish fairly soon. The rest of the division and conference has either caught up to or passed them by.

Goalie is one of the assets they can move and probably should move. They can find a cheap option for a backup goalie. They likely won’t be able to keep both goalies beyond the expansion draft anyway.

Letang is still a really good offensive defenseman.

True, he’s never been a good defender and I haven’t
watched him a lot recently.

Their balance looks pretty good at forward - if both
Crosby and Malkin are clicking. They can’t win playoffs rounds
when only one is on his game.

And they need to figure out which goalie they trust going forward pretty fast.
