“The more simple, better for us. I think that there has been a lot of gray area. I think every coach is a little frustrated. If it’s not crazy obvious and someone isn’t bowling the goalie over and interfering, of course there’s going to be some casual contact. We ask our guys ‘Go to the blue paint, stand in front of the goalie, take away his eyes, create traffic,’ that’s what every coach says to their players.
“You want your players parked in front of the goalie and there’s going to be some contact from time to time. As long as it’s not obvious and you’re denying him the chance to make a save, I think that’s the way it should be called.”
