Afternoon Line- Bill Foley

"I don't ask a lot of questions. I understand they want to get it right. And I don't blame them. This is a huge decision that is going to affect the NHL for years to come. But I'm not a patient guy by nature. However, I've learned to be patient. At least for this project.

"I don't want to upset the other owners because I want to be one of them one of these days, so I try to keep my mouth shut."

-Bill Foley, prospective owner of an NHL team in Las Vegas.  More from Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

In all honesty, I really want this to happen for Vegas.  There is an incredible support for this endeavor unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my twenty years of living here.  Yes, I’ve posted that I’ve been skeptical and critical of having the NHL in yet another desert locale, but I think the local corporate support is overwhelmingly positive and they’re ready to invest considerable effort in making this a lasting investment.

Plus, it’d be ridiculously cool to meet The 19.  So I’m a bit selfish in that regard.

Yeah but the talent level is spread to thin in the NHL these days with so many teams so I hope the only way another city gets a team is if it moves.
Expansion in todays “parity” NHL would be foolish.
