After The 2-1 Loss By The Montreal Canadiens To The Buffalo Sabres

11/29/2014 at 8:46am EST

from Mike Boone of Hockey Inside/Out,

Now the negatives:

• The call was tough, and Brian Gionta sold it. But what was Alexei Emelin thinking in going for a kill-shot late in a 1-1 game? I know it’s instinctive, particularly for a physical defenceman like Emelin. But he has to be more aware of the game situation.

• Alex Galchenyuk has to learn that he’s not a contestant on Dangling with the Stars. Or a finalist in the Alex Kovalev Playalike Contest. Enough with the fancy moves and puck-hogging. Shoot or find an open teammate. He’s totally our of synch with Brendan Gallagher. I’d like to see Galchenyuk on a line with Sekac.

• I can’t put my finger on exactly why, but P.K. is not P.K. Too many distractions? Pressure of the big contract? The $9-million man should be more dominant than what we’ve seen through the first quarter of the schedule.
