A Goalie Mess

There’s no other way to say it. The Colorado Avalanche’s goalie situation is a mess. The Avs are 35 games into the season and they’re like a marginal baseball team thinking it can get by with a closer-by-committee approach. Go with the hot hand and ride him until he falters. Except it doesn’t work. Somewhere along the line, someone has to emerge as the go-to guy, or it’s an early vacation. That’s what the Avs have on their hands, and head coach Joel Quenneville has a bad situation to fix.
