via TSN,
The New York Islanders agreed to terms on a two-year, $5 million deal with forward Ryan Strome on Tuesday.
Last season, Strome scored eight goals and added 20 assists in 71 games with the Islanders.
The Mississauga, ON native was drafted fifth overall in 2011 and posted career highs in goals (17), assists (33) and points (50) in 2014-15.
In his first pro season in 2013-14, Strome scored 49 points (13 goals, 36 assists) in just 37 games with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

It’s amazing how little you can do in the NHL and still get paid.
I think Strome has potential, but I can’t believe he signed for that much.
Although, one could make an argument that this was a ‘good’ deal in today’s NHL.
Sam Gagner was made a millionare based off of 4 weeks of good hockey in the past decade.
Every season he seems to have a week where he gets 10 points and everyone slobbers over signing him to a huge contract.
