from Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch,
By midafternoon today, the Wisniewski residence in Dublin will be crowded, loud and festive. Since signing with the Blue Jackets four seasons ago, James Wisniewski and his wife, Nicole, have extended an open invitation to his teammates and their families each Thanksgiving.
The Folignos are regulars. So are the Dubinskys and Tyutins. The single guys come every year, too, and usually end up playing with the kids.
This year’s gathering will be special, though — not just for the bounty of food on the table, but for the littlest one among them.
One year ago, Milana Foligno, daughter of Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno and his wife, Janelle, was in a hospital in Boston, recovering from open-heart surgery performed when she was only 3 weeks old.
Her parents were fighting, too, trying to keep their life on track while a wide range of emotions — fear, worry, woe — weighed on them.
