Is a cup hangover in store for the Chicago Blackhawks, or will there be a two-peat in the Windy City?
Things got off to a promising start Tuesday night for the Hawks as they bested the Washington Capitals by two goals. In that game, they displayed the same offensive firepower with which they overcame the Boston Bruins during last year's Stanley Cup finals, when the team from Boston simply had no response, at times, to Chicago's arsenal of offensive weapons.
This year's Blackhawks roster has largely been carried over from last year. On Tuesday, star forward Patrick Kane led the way, potting one goal alongside Marian Hossa, who scored two points. Hossa, now in his 16th season, still has the scoring punch. The Hawks just hope he stays healthy. While he played nearly two full campaigns the past two seasons, he'd been hampered by injuries before that.
Kane and Hossa are joined up front; of course, by fellow star Jonathan Toews, who, entering his seventh season at the tender age of 25, has molded himself into one of the league's elite playmakers. That's a status youngster Brandon Saad is hoping to cement this season. Saad had three points to lead the Hawks Tuesday night. He turns 21 this month in what will be his sophomore campaign in the league.
Here are the top-5 most expensive Blackhawks tickets this season. On average, tickets are $311 at the United Center, up 36 percent from last year when they clocked in at $228.
