TORONTO (July 5, 2010) – Thirty-one players have elected Salary Arbitration:
The deadline for Club-Elected Salary Arbitration notification is July 6, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. EDT. Hearings will be held in Toronto from July 20 to August 4, 2010.

Of all the wings RFAs, Derek Meech?
I think I read that Helm and Abdelkader aren’t eligible for abritration. Probably a good sign that Eaves and Miller didn’t file.
The Meech thing kind of makes me laugh. What’s his argument going to be? That he played half a season and played about half of those games as a forward? And managed to have the lowest point total of a regular player aside from Brad May?
No offense to Meech, but is it possibly for a judge to reward less than league minimum?

Meech could be a second liner with the cellar dwellers in the league. With the wings, he’s a part timer.

I don’t know. I just looked at Edmonton’s roster and there’s no way he’d be a top-4 there, and they are THE cellar dweller.
