1000 Games For Langenbrunner

Dallas, Tex – Dallas Stars right wing Jamie Langenbrunner will play his 1000th career NHL game against Los Angeles at American Airlines Center tonight. He has played 435 games for Dallas and 564 games for New Jersey. Langenbrunner won the Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars in 1999 and won the Cup again in 2003 after being traded to New Jersey in 2002. He is the 260th player to reach 1000th NHL games following San Jose’s Patrick Marleau who will play his 1000th game today in Phoenix. The Stars will hold a pre-game ceremony to recognize Jamie prior to the puck drop tonight at American Airlines Center.

 

Over the 999 games that Langenbrunner has played, he has scored 232 goals and 388 assists for 620 points. He has also skated in 137 NHL playoff games, posting 86 points (33g, 53a), including 17 points (10g, 17a) in 23 games during the Stars’ 1999 Stanley Cup victory and 18 points (11g, 7a) in 24 games during the Devils’ 2003 Cup victory. Langenbrunner ranks tied-for-second all-time in playoff overtime goals with four.

The Colquet, Minn., native is the 37th American-born player to reach the 1000-game mark. He ranks 11th in game-winning goals (54) among American-born players and 30th in overall scoring. Langenbrunner also ranks tied-for-fourth in playoff game-winning goals with 12, and ranks 11th in playoff goal scoring with 33 among American -born players.  He captained Team USA in the 2010 Olympics as he helped guide the team to a Silver Medal finish in Vancouver, collecting one goal and three assists in six games during the tournament. Langenbrunner also represented the United States in the 2004 World Cup and in the 1998 Olympics.
