KK- I Am Taking A Deep Breath Too

Time for me to put my feet up, enjoy a little of the holiday spirit and clear my mind.

If anything newsworthy needs to be posted, I will, if not, see you Saturday morning.

It’s Cyber Monday Day

Normally on Cyber Monday I would list the numerous affiliates I have which are associated with the NHL, such as apparel, sweaters, hats, decorations, etc.

But during the lockout, I personally don't feel it is right to advertise any of those products until we have our game back.

Yes I am taking a hit, so call this my own personal stand against anything NHL related until the NHL and NHLPA can sign a new CBA.

In the meantime, I just ask if you do shop at Amazon.com, that you use this link to make your purchases.  I also want to thank those who continue to shop at Amazon.com using my affiliate link, it has really helped out.

If you are a Detroit Red Wings fan, keep reading, if not, enjoy your shopping day.

Very Slow Hockey Day

Yes it is slow and for once I an thankful for that.

I have been fighting for the last 18 hours symptoms that appear to be flu-like but I don't think it is the flu.

I have improved enough to type this and not feel drained of all my strength, so progress is being made.

All liquids today, Gatorade and Vernors, and maybe some dry toast tonight.

Hopefully I will be back on Sunday morning.

Happy Thanksgiving

I celebrated Thanksgiving last night so I will be having today what you will tomorrow- leftovers.

The fresh, Amish bird was juicy, big (22 lbs) so that means lots of poultry to eat for the rest of the long weekend.

As I am stuffing myself, sitting in front of the TV while trying to enjoy some football ( I may have to avoid the Lions game to do that), I will be thinking about all of you and want to say I am very thankful for people like you who visit KK on a regular bases.

May you enjoy the holiday with family and friends and remain safe while you do so.

Early Turkey For Me

Because of family commitments and schedules, we are celebrating Thanksgiving in about 15 minutes.

The house is filled with about 15 people while I sit in my home office doing what I do.

Well, what else is there to say anyway, we have all heard the CBA story too many times and I believe most of you are as frustrated as I am.

So I will return sometime this evening with updates but in the meantime, I am ready to feast.

KK- Dark Night In The KK Hockey Section

Time for a little R & R for me, so I am taking tonight off unless something huge breaks.

Hopefully a few 'pops' will help me relax and I will be fresh and ready to go Saturday morning.

Have a nice night!

KK- Server Issues Again

Sorry for the problem.  From my hosting service.

[November 12th 2012 - 12:17PM CST] Our team has identified another spike on the monitored web cluster that has caused the most recent intermittent performance impacts. We’re working to identify where/who is the source of impacts.

So if you have access issues, you know the problem is being addressed.

KK- Server Issues

Over the last 24 hours some of you may have been experiencing KK loading issues and I'd like to apologize for the issue.

However, it looks like the problem has been found and it is being worked on.

via my hosting service,

November 9th 2012 - 1:45PM CST]  We’re continuing to investigate into yesterday’s downtime.  We’ve isolated the root cause to what appears to be a shared web and database server cluster.  We’re diving in and will post when we have more updates.  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

added 3:59pm, Hopefully this means all is good...

[November 9th 2012 - 2:33PM CST]  In an attempt to identify where the exact cause of these performance impacts are we have taken some of our shared web clusters offline.  We’re moving forward with our investigation and are enabling web clusters as they are ruled out as a source of the cause.  Thank you for your continued patience.

KK- How You Can Help

Note, moved to top of page, original post time was 7:20am on 11/1/12.

Yes, it is that time of year for the KK semi-annual donation drive.

Kukla's Korner is not part of a big corporate site and there are no financial backers either, it is all me.

With the lockout, viewership is down which also means income is down while the cost of running KK remains the same.

I have had to hold back on a few more enhancements to KK and even if the NHL returns in December, I won't see things returning to financial stability until February.

I am not going anywhere and will continue to do what I do, but things are tough right now.

How you can help...
