Kukla's Korner Hockey
KK will be slowly getting back to our normal routine beginning tomorrow. We do hope everyone celebrating the 4th of July has a safe and enjoyable day or extra long weekend.
We will be around so make sure to stop by.
Please remember, if you have had too many “pops”, pass the keys to someone who hasn’t.
The 600th KK member registered over this past weekend, which means we’ll be doing another random draw amongst all KK members. The prize is gift certificate for $25 for either Shop.NHL.com or IceJerseys.com. Paul will do the drawing in the next 24 hours and the winner will be contacted by Friday.
The next drawing will take place after the 800th member registers (which is free, simple and allows you to enter various other contests over the season, too).
Thank you to everyone for all the support, visits, links, comments, tips and friendly words. It makes a busy job rather fun for all of us. And KK will always be a free source of hockey news and views, but we appreciate it if you check out our advertisers once in a while. Cheers!
And now, back to the hockey news…
A less than expected decline in June.
On a sidenote, KK received over 825,000 page views yesterday, so July is off to a very good start.
We also achieved a new record yesterday when 1276 people were visiting KK at one time.
To see previous month stats, start here.
With the UFA signing period kicking off at noon EDT on Sunday, July 1st, we just wanted to let you know we will be around to announce signings and all the talk that goes with this time period.
Although KK is very active during the weekday, it should be interesting to see the traffic stats for the weekend.
KK members, don’t forget to use the KK Forum for any breaking news. We receive notification of any post there and will follow up if need be.
If you live in the Detroit area, you know storms are popping up all over the place.
I need to sign off for a bit, will be back ASAP.
KK members, don’t forget to use the KKF if anything breaks.
update 2:10pm, Here comes another one….
I hope Alanah doesn’t read this until Sunday evening which means she is catching up on some well deserved sleep.
I left her on her own during the draft and wanted to publicly thank her for the work she did at KK. Remember, she was dealing with a 3 hour time difference too and I am sure those very early morning posts she made were done in half-daze mode but she came through with flying colors.
Great job “A”!
I am happy to report KK will be updating live from the 2007 NHL Draft in Columbus.
I will be arriving in Columbus on Thursday so start looking for updates from there late afternoon.
Alanah will be holding down the Kompound and who knows, we just may be having a bit of fun.
I am looking forward to meeting the MSM that I have frequently pointed to, spoke with and interviewed. The same holds true regarding many of the folks affiliated with all of the NHL teams.
As important, I anticipate meeting the large contingent of bloggers that are attending the event. Who has the first round?
It should be a great experience and we look forward to giving you an inside look at the NHL Draft.
I am heading out the door and should be back at the Kompound by 3pm.
Alanah will be updating today as need be and remember, KK members can always use the KK Forum to keep other readers aware of any hockey news.
You will be getting a dose of KK Lite this weekend.
Time to re-charge the batteries and get some long put-off chores done.
Remember, KK members are encouraged to use the KK Forum to post anything of interest to hockey fans.
Spector has some UFA talk up today and I will be relaxing just a bit.
We have the NHL Awards Show coming up next week, the NHL Draft and the craziness that is the UFA signing period which begins on July 1st.
KK will also be undergoing a major facelift and a few other surprises too.
Kick back a relax a bit today… I will have the results of the KK Stanley Cup Challenge up sometime in the next few days. It will take some work to tabulate the TOI (time-on-ice) and match them up to all the predictions.
