Kukla's Korner Hockey
I have decided to stay home during the ASG Weekend, which will allow me to re-charge my battery as the race to a playoff spot is about to get real interesting.
As the NHL types begin to gather in Atlanta for the ASG, we will be providing KK readers with all the information they need to know about the mid-season classic.
We will be doing our first live chat tonight during the Wings/Canucks game. The puck drops around 7:37pm ET so please join us if you would like to talk some hockey.
You can enter the chat rooms here, or click the KK Chat Rooms link at the top of the page. You do need to be a KK member and signed-in. If you are not a member, you can join here- it is a very simple process plus it is free to join.
We hope to see you in there and the game chat will be in the Abel to Yzerman room and general hockey talk will be in the KK Hockey room.
Over at Abel to Yzerman they had a bit of fun over the last week or so testing out the new chat system we’ve been incorporating into KK. Everything seems to be working reasonably well, so now we’ve opened the rooms up on a permanent basis.
The KK Chat Rooms are an added feature for KK members. You can access them at any time by clicking the tab link along side the other KK sections at the top of any page. If you’re not a member, it’s free to register.
We’ve also added some new features since the original testing and we’ll probably make more adjustments as time goes on.
Check it out when you get a chance—we hope they get a lot of use.
I felt the twinge in my back early this morning, now suffering terrible back pain, hopefully just a muscle issue.
Will be back when the pain becomes bearable… Sorry for the delay but typing standing up just won’t cut it for me today.
, Boom, just like that the pain has gone away. Laying in bed I reached over to answer the phone, and the pain was gone. I can’t figure it out, but hopefully it is gone.
Thanks everyone for the emails and comments, your concern and suggestions were appreciated.
May you and yours have the best hockey year!!!
As I mentioned yesterday, KK posting will be in “lite” mode until December 26th and will go “dark” around noon ET on December 24th thru the morning of the 26th.
So this post is open to you, feel free to talk hockey or in this one instance, general talk is allowed too.
As you can see at the bottom of each blog homepage, traffic is down and will be that way for about the next ten days or so. But if yoi have a question, a rant or just want to get something out, feel free to do so in the comments of this post.
Thanks to those of you who participated in my spur-of-the-moment little hockey story contest the other day. For the cost of a $25 gift certificate to IceJerseys.com, I was grateful for the entertainment as we all wind down for the holidays.
By a random draw, the winner is BSalmon, who will be contacted by email to receive the prize.
Before you leave the web for more important things, like spending valuable time with family and friends, I wanted to wish all of you a peaceful and glorious Holiday Season.
The hockey section of KK will be going “dark” around noon ET on Monday, December 24th and return on December 26th. Posting will be a little less frequent beginning today through the 26th.
May you and your loved ones experience the true meaning of Christmas and keep those less fortunate in your thoughts.
It has been a great year at KK and thanks go out to Alanah, Bill and KK contributors George and Steve. We will be back in full force soon and look forward to bringing you “everything hockey” in the coming months.
Without you, the members and guests of Kukla’s Korner, this little hockey site would not be possible. Thank you and remember, if you have had too many “pops”, pass the keys to someone who hasn’t. I want each and everyone of you back reading KK!
This morning, I was reading this thread of people’s favorite personal hockey stories. This one gave me a laugh:
At a game between Cal State Northridge and Sacramento State while the refs were sorting out the penalties, Bryan Adam’s song ‘Everything I do (I do it for you)’ was playing over the PA system.
CSUN’s goalie takes his helmet off and starts doing some figure skater styled jumps (in full goalie gear) while belting the song out at the top of his lungs.
Anyway, it got me thinking about whether any KK members have a short-and-sweet hockey story they’d like to tell? If so, feel free to tell it in the comments of this post and I’ll do a random draw of all the entries on Friday at 12 noon (ET) for a $25 gift certificate to Ice Jerseys.com.
Just be sure you’re logged into your member account when you leave your comment entry. (And if you’re not a member, you can register here quick and easy).
P.S. I reserve the right to completely disregard bad entries… “I went to a game and saw a fight” doesn’t count! (Well, unless it involves cheerleaders, or something…)
I will be on the air tonight at 9:00pm ET on Long Island’s AM1240-WGBB.
The show can also be heard online at nyhockeytalk.com.
