The Slow Down

It is summer, it is hot and the hockey news is starting to slow down.

But I remain around, keeping you updated on the latest news from the hockey world.

Yes I may take off a day here and there in a few weeks, but when hockey news is made, I will be around to post it.

A little on KK:

About 3 1/2 months ago the KK Donation Drive went okay and I appreciate all the people who have donated.

Summer time is certainly a down time for ad revenue but I still need to keep the lights on here and any help via donation you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I prefer payment via PayPal (note account name is Shalen Franchini) and also have a GoFundMe account set up too.

Every dollar amount helps and if you do contribute at least $25, the majority of ads on KK will be removed for the next year.

update: this post will now fall in line and the sticky has been removed.  Original post was on 7/3/15 at 10:25am.

KK- Not Good

Hosting service for KK will be suspended around 11am ET today unless $1400 is paid before then.

I will be able to pay the amount on the 12th of the month but today do not have the funds to do so.

I am tired folks, tired of trying to keep my head above water and have been able to do so in the past but not today.

The stress only makes it much worse on me physically and I just can't come up with a solution this time.

With the suspension, also comes the loss of the KK domain, so any correspondence should be done through kuklaskorner@gmail.com.

I love what I do, plan to continue what I do and if indeed KK is suspended, I should return early next week.

I start collecting social security at an early age this month, guess where that money is going to?

KK- A Dark Night

I am going to settle in the lazy boy for the night, will try to find a good movie or just may doze off.

It should be a slow night in the hockey workd and I will catch up bright and early on Sunday morning.

Remember, all teams at this point are 0-0-0-0!

KK- Improving

My eyes are bothering me again but improving.

Staring at a monitor 12-14 hours a day certainly doesn't help so I plan to take it very easy the next few days but will post on occasion.

My instincts tell me it could be a slow weekend and that would certainly help with my recovery.

KK- Enjoy The Memorial Day Weekend

I will be around as normal and I expect hockey news picking up on Sunday, which is media day in Las Vegas.

So check back on occasion and stay safe.

Looks like a great weather weekend, with the temperature reaching the 90's on Sunday and Monday in the Detroit area.  Hockey weather?

I was talking with a friend about the ice conditions in Vegas today and personally I haven't heard any issues with the ice conditions there, must by the dry heat!

All George McPhee

from Iain McIntyre of Sportsnet,

Sportsnet: Of the Knights’ accomplishment, what makes you most proud?

McPhee: There’s two things. We really like the people we’re working with. That means more than anything – to work with the high-quality people we’ve hired throughout the organization and the high-quality people we have playing the game for us. The other accomplishment would be how well the sport has been received in Las Vegas. We really needed this to work. The league needed it to work. Having a successful team in Las Vegas really increased the visibility of the NHL. We needed this to work, and it has worked well. And the roots can now grow deep.

Sportsnet: You told us that the Oct. 1 shooting accelerated the bond between the team and community like nothing else could have. Can you try to explain that for people who haven’t been to Las Vegas and felt that connection?
