KK- Down Time

As you can see when you visit KK, news has been hard to come by lately.

It's not unusual at this time of year so I am going to take advantage of it with a mini-break.

I will post if something big comes up, but don't hang around for news which is most likely not coming in the next few days.

Today is hang around the home to get things done, tomorrow a lake will be the destination.

Feel free to use this post to discuss anything in the hockey world and I'll see you in a few days.

KK- Time For Another KK Donation Drive

The last KK Donation Drive kicked off on October 5, 2020 during the pandemic and was a success.

Fast forward to today with another Donation Drive.  Although this past season was limited in games played, people did come back to KK to get the latest hockey news.

For those of you who wish to donate I prefer payment via PayPal  and also have a GoFundMe account set up too.  Another payment method I'm using is Zelle, which is a way to send a donation through your bank.  The email address to use is pk at kuklaskorner dot com

KK members who have donated in the past will receive at least a year of no ads on KK with a donation of $20.

First time donors will receive the same benefit with a donation of at least $25.

Any amount you can afford is greatly appreciated.

From revenue being down almost 90% during the pandemic I have seen growth of incoming revenue and visitors since the NHL started playing in January.  It continues to grow to this day.

Thanks again.

This post will remain at the top of KK for at least the next few days.

So Much Talk

Many in the hockey world are writing about what could be happening with certain players and teams as we approach the expansion draft on July 21st.

I probably could do a post every five minutes but as has always been with KK, I pick and choose what I believe you are interested in.

Understand I am following all the talk and will post when necessary, but I am not going to post everything just to gather hits and stir up conversation.

That is my style and most of you know that.  So stay tuned, if something meaningful happens, you will know about it.

Over 121,000 posts, that's an average of 20+ posts a day, Kukla's Korner was born.

I never thought 16 years later I would be typing this, but thanks to you, a dream became true.

I started doing this after leaving a very good job to become a 24/7 caretaker for my Mom, while at her home I started what I do.

We've been through a lot KK/A2Y members and guests and the one thing which has remained true since day 1 is my commitment to spread the news of the hockey world.

I thank all of you for continuing to visit KK on a regular basis and participating in the comments.

Now let the fun week begin.

Happy Independence Day

Enjoy the holiday, be safe and what's on the menu today?

For me, all on the grill, hot dogs, corn on the cob and asparagus.  Simple and quick.

I Met The Road This Morning

6:30am, went out for a bike ride

6:45am, face meets pavement, broken nose, scrapes and scratches, mouth cut inside

Oh yea, I got it good today, starting to feel pain in places I did not know I had.

8:21am, cleaned up, still very sore and nose still bleeding in spurts.

Going to take it easy today if I can.

Memorial Day 2021

Instead of me giving you a history lesson on Memorial Day, I am going to ask you who do you honor on this day?

I honor my father, who was a company clerk under General George Patton in North Africa.

I also honor an uncle who was a pilot in WWII and another uncle who served in the Korean War.  Until the day he passed, he refused to eat rice of any kind after returning home from Korea.

One more person to honor, my mother who worked at the Willow Run facility, helping build airplanes.

May they all rest in peace knowing they served their country proudly.

Happy Mother’s Day 2021

Who else but my Mother would wake up with me at 6:00am ro play catch with me on a warm summer morning?

Wo else but my Mom would take me to my first Wings game when I was six yeas old?

Who else would take my friends and me to a Saturday ladies day ball  game at Tiger Stadium?  My Mom knew a bargain too, 75 cents back then to watch the Bengals.

Who else would drive me to the local bars to collect their bottle caps from pop bottles?  My Mom did, probably a hundred times, just so we could turn those caps in for a baseball or football.

My Mom treated me with kid gloves but on a few occasions, boxing gloves came in handy for her too.

I miss my Mom daily so give your mom a hug and one from me too.

If you are a mom, come here, allow me to tell you how great you are.  This day is yours, but know you are special every day of the year.

KK- Easter Sunday Plans

I will be around on Sunday morning for the morning update, then I have no idea what is going on.

Friends are only telling me "you are not working on Easter Sunday, we have plans for you."  So I am going to play it by ear.

My birthday is on Monday so I believe both days are being combined into one and I am just going to flow with it.

Of course, if anything big breaks, you know darn well I will be behind the keyboard.

To be truthful, I could probably use a day off and plan to abide by the rules and do what my friends tell me to do.

Oh, and Happy Easter.

that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures- Corinthians 15:4
