KK- Making It Quick, Donation Drive Time

note- original post was on 9/4/19 at 11:33am

I am going to make this as short as possible.

This summer was the slowest I have experienced since I started Kukla's Korner back in July, 2005 (can you believe it, 14 years).

As always, I refuse to post hockey related links like 'top 10 players named Patrick' or 'what NHL would have the best ice in the summer'.  You get the picture.

Slow is not good for KK.  The more visitors to the site, the more ad revenue, but again, I don't force the news.  I let it come to me and decide if members and readers would have interest.

I would have preferred to wait for another KK donation drive until early October, but I don't want to be in panic mode when the season starts.

The last donation drive was in late April and it was successful, although the goal fell short by about $175.

So here goes...

If you wish to donate- I prefer payment via PayPal (note account name is Shalen Franchini) and also have a GoFundMe account set up too.

KK members who have donated in the past will receive at least a year of no adds on KK with a donation of $20.

Others will receive the same benefit with a donation of at least $25.

Thanks as always and this post will remain sticky for at least a few days.

KK- The Labo(u)r Day Weekend

News in the hockey world will probably be slow over the weekend but I expect it to start picking up early next week.

Rookie camps will be opening soon followed by the NHL teams.

I will be around over the next four days but posts may be a little slower than normal.

Hope everyone stays safe and enjoys the last holiday before the season starts.

KK- Time For A Break

My plan for the next 1 1/2 months is to take a few days off here and there.

I have no travel plans, will remain local and if anything big pops up, I will post.

But other than that, down time is needed although my Twitter may remain somewhat active.

I put in a request for a few days off and it was approved it (nice when the only person I report to is me).

I am not sure when I will get back at  it, but safe to say it won't be any longer than 3-4 days of exile.

So KK members feel free to use the comment section of this post to keep on eye out on things if you so desire.

KK- Today Sure Feels Like A Holiday

News is pretty slow and I imagine it will get slower tomorrow and perhaps over a long holiday weekend too.

I am and will be around if any actual news happens, otherwise, I am going to relax.

Hope all of you have a great July 4th and beyond.

Stay safe, enjoy whatever your plans are and be careful if around fireworks.

It Should Be A Slow Day Today

Many of the media types are either traveling or taking it easy, which is my plan for today.

Off-ice news will soon pickup and as always, I will be around to keep you informed.

I will post occasionally today but if something does break, you will see it here quickly but I don't see much happening today except for the party getting started in St. Louis.

Time for some eye rest and a mental refresh too.

It’s Memorial Day Weekend

The day started slow, it has become even slower during the afternoon and I imagine tonight will be the same.

It should start picking up on Sunday and I am around during this holiday.

Really the only new of interest is surrounding Dave Tippitt and the head coaching job in Edmonton.  Talks continue but nothing official at this point.

Have a great weekend and be safe.

I will post if needed tonight, tomorrow and hopefully back to normal on Sunday.

Puck drops on game 1 of the SCF on Monday, just after 8:00pm ET.

KK- Proactive Maintenance On KK Tonight, Expect A Short Outage Period

As a step to assist with planning we are informing you of proactive maintenance on the parent server that hosts your VPS. This will be taking place from [9:00 PM] US Eastern Time on [05/13/2019] to [10:00 PM] US Eastern Time on [05/13/2019]. This work is essential to ensure your services remain secure, fast and efficient. Please take any measure you can to plan for this, as it will require your server being taken offline for a brief time within the scheduled window above.

Yes I know game 2 of the WCF starts at 9pm ET tonight but service interruption will not be very long.

update 9:50pm, Maintenance complete.
