From good pal of the blog and one of my mentors, Stan Fischler, at MSG.com:
Stories such as Jake Wisniewski’s could not be crafted by a Hollywood script writer—nor a Tinseltown director for that matter—unless his name happened to be Alfred Hitchcock.
At age four, suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, a thin and frail Jake—and family—ventured from his native Poland to America seeking better medical treatment than he could possibly receive at home.
From then on—and for years—young Wisniewski’s life was spent in and out of hospitals in the New York Metropolitan Area. He was desperately seeking help that would return him to anything close to a reasonably normal life so he could continue rooting for his favorite hockey team, the New Jersey Devils.
