If you are a fan of hockey blogs, then you must already know about the terrific hockey humor blog Down Goes Brown, which is run by the great Sean McIndoe.
McIndoe decided to write a book, The Best of Down Goes Brown. It is sure to be a great read and one that I hope all of you will go get.
Anyways, the new author was kind enough to take some time to tell us how he came up with this brilliant idea for a book and what he hopes to accomplish with it, among other things.
PH: How did you come up with the idea for your book The Best of Down Goes Brown?
DGB: I’d wanted to do this sort of project almost from the beginning. There was this weird period a few years ago when it seemed like every blog was getting a book deal, and I remember thinking “Gosh, it would sure be fun to do a best of DGB book that had all the greatest hits and also included a bunch of brand new material!”
Then, like most of my life goals, I decided that actually sounded like kind of a lot of work and so I stopped thinking about it.
But eventually I got lucky – an agent approached me and helped me with a proposal, and we found a deal with a publisher that made sense. I was fortunate enough to have an employer who let me take some extended time off from my day job to work on the book, and a few months later here we are.
