According to New York Rangers’ beat writer Jesse Spector of The Daily News, Rangers’ forward Mats Zuccarello has been sent down to Connecticut of the American Hockey League:
According to the AHL’s transactions list, but not yet confirmed by the team, the Rangers have sent Mats Zuccarello to Connecticut today, essentially ending the Norwegian rookie’s first NHL season after six goals and 16 assists in 41 games, with five shootout goals.
Zuccarello was a healthy scratch in back-to-back games before returning to the lineup for the Rangers’ 6-2 loss last night on Long Island. He played 12:58 in the game, posted a minus-3 rating and was co-point man with Erik Christensen during the 71-second 5-on-3 in the first period that the Rangers squandered.
