Good morning folks. Sorry for not having posting much in the last few days. Things are busy at work and unfortunately, things are slow Rangers’ news wise.
With that in mind, what are your thoughts on Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs:
- Can Jaroslav Halak keep up his strong play?
- Can the Pittsburgh Penguins advance to the Conference Finals for the third straight year?
- How will Brian Boucher’s play hold up against the Boston Bruins?
- Will the San Jose Sharks get past round 2 by defeating the almighty Red Wings?
- How will Roberto Luongo play against the Hawks?

There’s definitely something special about Halak this year. He’s playing ridiculously good hockey. He’s survived the most explosive offensive team this year. Feels like Mr Roy a little bit. That said, Crosby seems to have the knack for scoring or setting up plays when it’s really needed. I think the Habs could finish off the Pens provided they can do the shot blocking and shutdown defense they did against the Caps. I think Halak can take this team past Pittsburgh.
Brian Boucher? He’s definitely a streaky goalie. If Marc Savard is back, it will be a lot more difficult. If the defense can keep the sight lines open, I think he will play well. The first game will pretty much tell.
Again, the Sharks first game will tell us what they want. They’ll be playing a tired Detroit team who played their best game of the post-season on Tuesday. Both goalies are playing very well. But I think the Sharks offense will kick it into high gear… by that I mean Pavelski will play outside his mind and help give Thornton, Marleau and Heatley a figurative kick in the ass.
Hawks will take the series in six. Luongo will stink.
