Trap Game

That is exactly what tonight is for the New York Rangers as they take on the New York Islanders in Long Island.

The Blueshirts are riding a 6-game winning streak while the New York Islanders are one of the worst teams in the National Hockey League. With that said, however, it is more than likely that the Islanders will be up for tonight’s tilt in front of their fans.

While the Islanders’ will be more than pumped to play tonight’s match, the New York Rangers are an extremely hot club right now. They are scoring goals, playing smart defense, playing responsibly and having success on special teams.

This is a much different Rangers’ club that the Islanders will be playing compared to the team they faced back in October. Back then, the Rangers will still trying to figure out how to mesh well and what kind of team they were going to be.

A month and a half into the season, the Blueshirts are establishing an identity that was very similar to last season’s. The team works hard, sacrifices their bodies and never gives up, something team head coach John Tortorella takes pride in.

Hopefully, the Blueshirts will play with a lot of pride tonight and avoid the “trap” by picking up the all important two points that they need to continue their winning streak.
