Rangers Look to Prey on Stars

The New York Rangers have another test tonight at Madison Square Garden as they take on the Dallas Stars.
The Stars are without goaltender Kari Lehtonen and are still third in the Western Conference with 33 points. With that said, they will have Richard Bachman, a 24-year-old rookie, in between the pipes for his second career start.
For the Rangers, it will be their third game in four nights as they look to win their third straight game. In the team’s two victories, the Rangers have outscored their opponents by a score of 10-1 and have been strong in all areas of their game.
With that said, the Rangers have to be aware of the “trap” game. While the Stars may be in third in the West, the Rangers have a lot more depth and are stronger in each position, which sometimes ends up forcing teams to play down to their opponent’s weaker level.
The Rangers need to step up and help Brad Richards beat his former team. In 27 games this season, Richards is tied for the team lead in scoring with 25 points (11-14-25) and is living up to the billing, so far.
It should be an interesting game tonight and should the Rangers pick-up another two points, we could potentially be talking about the Rangers as the top team in the Eastern Conference. Notice I said “potentially”.
Wouldn’t that be something?
