Naslund Supplies Breathing Room to Blueshirts

As I’m sure all of you New York Ranger fans are aware, forward Markus Naslund officially announced his retirement from the NHL yesterday.
While he wasn’t a bad Ranger (Over 20 goals for the 10th consecutive season), he had certainly slowed a bit and the team needed something like this to happen in order to clear some cap room. It’s too bad that Wade Redden won’t consider doing the same thing as that would give the Blueshirts a lot more room under the cap to sign players that would make an
impact
.
