Glen Sather: Unimpressive with the Blueshirts

From great friend of the blog Scotty over at Scotty Hockey:

Sather starts season number 11 under seemingly the same accountability his coach demanded from his players: none. Looking back at the last decade of epic disasters, I can’t imagine what the next 10 years will hold for us. But, that being said, we keep buying tickets for this ride aboard the Hindenburg, despite the fact we’ve been going down in horrible, burning flames for years so the question is who is the bigger failure - Sather or us?

this puts a tear to my eye, a wasted decade of hockey for my beloved blueshirts. Sather has got to go, otherwise we will never get this team back on track.

Whinning about Sather is getting old…....it seems like any moron blogger or “sports writer” who needs to fill some space always turns to this same boring topic.

Every team has its issues and the NYR are no different. Maybe “Scotty Hockey” should try and spend some time and effort in his blogs or whatever they are, and maybe point out that last year Sather actually made some impressive moves.

1. Picking up Jokinen who was on the last year of his contract for 2 bums, one of which is signed for 2 more years at 3mil.

2. Standing pat at the trade deadline and not making any typical Sather type dumb moves of trading youth away for a rental player .....just to get into the playoffs and maybe to the 2nd round.

3. Recently signing MATS ZUCCARELLO AASEN, who could be a very good addition to the NYR and fit right into a top 2 line spot.

Has Sather made mistakes….yes….big ones at that, but constantly bringing up the same old story every few months makes the writer look like even more of a failure than Sather himself.
