From SNYRangersBlog.com:
“A source close to SNYRangersblog.com has learned that Matt Gilroy, Hobey Baker Award winner (college hockey’s top player) from Boston University, is close to signing with the New York Rangers.
A call was placed to Gilroy’s agent, Kent Hughes, and he said that nothing has been signed yet and could not confirm whether or not the Blueshirts had signed him to a contract.
We are also in the midst of contacting the Rangers to see what’s going on with the situation.”

Update: ESPN is reporting that Gilroy signed with the Blueshirts.
