According to Andrew Gross of Ranger Rants:
Erik Christensen left The Prudential Center wearing a knee brace on his right leg, a lengthy one going from his upper thigh to his lower calf. Coach John Tortorella reported Christensen had suffered a mild sprain at 8:16 of the second period after a collision with Devils defenseman Andy Greene, which led to a collision with the left post.
Christensen said he has not been told yet whether he will be making the Florida trip - the team’s charter leaves tomorrow morning for Tampa - but the Rangers did recall forward Dale Weise from Connecticut (AHL) in order for the 22-year-old to be on the plane. Christensen said he did not have X-rays taken at the arena and was not sure when he would be examined by a doctor. He had his knee iced at The Rock.
In the one game that Weise played in this season (December 18 against the Philadelphia Flyers), he was one of the team’s better places and even had a goal called back. Hopefully this weekend in Florida, head coach John Tortorella will put him in a position to exceed.
