All Things Flaming C

As I have been sequestered in beautiful Swift Current, Saskatchewan for the week in an attempt to save their Western Hockey League franchise, I struggled to find one of their computers available to update the masses. But alas, I asked a local yokel to point me in the direction of one of the 3 available in the city, and here I am! On Tuesday, the Flames ended their 6 game homestand in the most abysmal of possible ways. The Van City Canucks walked over them with a convincing 5-1 victoire and the boys looked like a ragged bunch of ragamuffins…
With 7 possible points out of 12 amassed over the homestand, many can say that it wasn’t a complete disaster. Hater Nation would probably concur that they should blow up the team, as they always seem to puke out as a response. Well the sun did rise again Thursday morning in Detroit and by early evening the C de Flambe were riding high after a solid 4-1 win at the Joe Louis Arena. Coach Sutter continued to line mangle, and placed his superest of superstars Jarome Iginla, with his long time pal Olli Jokinen and snarly nasty-mug Curtis Glencross. The group clicked and had 3 of the goals, #12 wiith a pair of nasty one-timers snipes from Glenner. With such success, you can assume they will play together at least a couple more games before the tinkering is kicked back into overdrive.
With the Flames inconsistent play again this season, the rumors of imminent trades re occur like the snoring from the back row of a safety meeting. They start small and gather strength until they are squashed or finish with a fury. The latest rumor on the twittersphere had Jarome getting moved to Detroit. Conveniently, he shone Thursday night and will probably not be moved today. (Surely I jest). More fact than rumor had 15 different teams scouting the Flames-Red Wings game. All I can say is who would not want to be there? Drawn like mice to peanut butter-laden traps, they come to see the great offensive firepower and defensive stratagem that is Calgary Flames hockey.(And a wink). The trade rumors seem to follow teams that struggle or are in need of minor or major overhauls but rest assured that J-Feast will do the Flames organization and fans right with whatever deals he agrees to while at the helm. What’s that? Darren Helm is getting traded to Calgary? You heard it here first. And that’s how rumors get started.
Enjoy the Flames vs the Buffalo Sabres at the new Aud Friday evening.
